Yemi Osinbajo

Yemi Osinbajo is a Professor of Law, statesman and advocate for climate action and innovation in Africa. He served as Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from 2015 to 2023, where he played a key role in economic reform, governance, and peacebuilding. Previously, he served as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos State, where he spearheaded sweeping judicial reforms.

Professor Osinbajo has also been very active internationally, serving on UN committees and leading several international peacekeeping efforts. He was recently appointed Global Advisor to the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) and chairs the Climate Action Platform for Africa.

Outside of government, he has founded several initiatives, including the North East Children’s Trust and Future Perspectives, which focus on education, youth empowerment and sustainability. He continues to shape policy discussions on climate, innovation and economic development across Africa.
